New, more affordable Lightpost pricing plans

Here at Lightpost we've been listening to our customers: we know that in these uncertain economic times every penny saved counts. We've been able to cut our costs significantly and we're excited to pass those savings on to you.

This is good news! The most affordable donor management solution on the market just got cheaper.

Instead of many different pricing plans we now offer only two: Free and Plus.
Our new Free plan has a donor limit of 100. Our new Plus plan is only $29/month and allows unlimited donors.

In all cases Lightpost subscribers will pay less for their subscription now than they did in the past.
For example, if you were a "Basic" subscriber, your account will turn into a Free account.
If you were a Pro subscriber you'll save $31/month and be upgraded to unlimited donors.
If you were a Max subscriber you'll still have unlimited donors, and you'll save $91/month!

Go ahead, log into your Lightpost account. We've already changed your subscription to reflect the new subscription model. You'll see your new pricing reflected in your next invoice.

If you don't have a Lightpost account, now is the perfect time to give us a try -- you don't have anything to lose.

New Feature: Donor Tags

Probably our most requested feature of the last few months has been the ability to tag donors in Lightpost with various labels (volunteer, board member, major donor, etc.) We agreed that it was an important feature for Lightpost to have, and we're excited to announce that it was pushed over the weekend.

How it works:

When you are adding or editing a donor in Lightpost, you'll notice a new row in the form, "Tags", which includes a list of your available tags, letting you check off any that apply. Whenever a tag is assigned to a donor, you'll see that information both on that donor's main page, as well as on the "Donors" homepage in the list view.

These tags also work as filters both on the Donors homepage as well as in the Reports area.

We've created a few default tags to help get you started: "Board Member", "Gives Anonymously", "Major Donor", "Requests No Mail", and "Volunteer." You'll recognize that "gives anonymously" and "requests no mail" used to be separate checkboxes -- we've incorporated those into the new Tags system. (Any donors who you had previously marked with either of those labels has automatically been tagged appropriately.)

You can manage your tags using the new link in the Donors sidebar. There you can add, edit, and remove tags so that the list matches the needs of your organization.

New Feature: Contact and Donation Importing

A few days ago we pushed our first major update to Lightpost. We're excited to announce contact and donation importing!

Many of our customers come to Lightpost with a preexisting collection of contacts/donors (and their donations) that they have been compiling in another donor management program, Excel spreadsheets, or some other contact management software. We made our import process as universally compatible as possible by centering it around the CSV (comma-separated values) file format, which is supported by most of those programs (including Excel.) Once you create your CSV file from your old system, just upload it into Lightpost, take a moment to match up your data fields with ours, and go.
